Hello All,
It's hard to believe that the
summer is almost over! As we
see our children and campus
students heading back to
classes, it makes it more real. I
hope your summer was full of
incredible blessings and that you
did get some times of rest and
vacation as well.
Sunday was a great time of
worship. God is certainly
drawing us closer to each other
as we arrive for worship earlier
and enjoy coffee and pastries
together during our "Rise and
Shine" fellowship time! The
teachers are having their
communion/devo before kids
classes start to help them get
mentally and spiritually prepared
to serve our children. We
certainly appreciate all those
who are making the sacrifices to
pull it all together. Our efforts to
have a more orderly worship and
start on time will become routine
very soon. (1Corinthians 14:33
"For God is not a God of disorder
but of peace.")
Probably one of the most
challenging, yet encouraging,
passages in the gospels is
Jesus words to the disciples in
John 14:12. "I tell you the truth,
anyone who has faith in me will
do what I have been doing. He
will do even greater things than
these, because I am going to the
Father." Our focus as followers
of Jesus is to 'do what he has
been doing", that is, to put our
faith into action and have an
impact on the lives of others
around us in his name. True
ambassadors for our Lord.
Jesus was always amazed at
the people who put their faith
into action. He wants to know,
"Do you believe that I am able to
do this?" If so, "according to
your faith will it be done to you."
Healing, change and impact all
come from our degree of faith.
Faith in action. "Not merely
listening to the word, but doing
what it says"(James 1:25).
Let's all put our faith into action
this week and let Jesus SEE it!
Faithfully ,
Scott
